J & D ASSOCIATES was founded in 1982 by Jim and Donna Lang. Originally operating as a small trucking company based in Lancaster , Pennsylvania , J & D ASSOCIATES participated in a marketing program with Armstrong World Industries referred to as the Floormaster Program. This program consisted of transportation and installation of Motorized Vinyl Roll Racks, capable of displaying and storing 15 to 25 rolls of sheet vinyl.

By 1988 J & D ASSOCIATES has designed a number of accessories to complement the carpet and vinyl storage system. In 1992, J & D ASSOCIATES designed and built its own motorized storage system. The system today is the finest design and quality that can be purchased.

Since 1992 J & D ASSOCIATES has become the largest supplier of Motorized Storage Systems to the Home Center Industry. J & D has manufactured and sold nearly 12 thousand (12,000) systems for installation in the United States , Canada , Russia and China .

J&D is a division of United Fixtures / Interlake (UFI). UFI is the newly combined entity formed by the merger of two successful and forward thinking industry leaders.

J & D ASSOCIATES was asked to produce its first modified carousel for use in general industry in 1992. Since then J & D ASSOCIATES has committed to designing, building and selling carousel storage systems to be used in general industrial applications. This has led to the development of several machines capable of storing and dispensing a variety of industrial materials.

Today targeted industries include wire, textile, leisure and printing/converting. A general unit with trays has also been developed with limitless applications for bins, parts, hardware and general storage. Carousels are available in custom and standard widths from 4' to 20', and heights from 8'7" to 24'.

Today, J & D ASSOCIATES is located in the Capital Business Center , Middletown , PA , occupying a newly constructed 125,000 square foot facility. With the addition of an automated paint system and complete fabrication and design capabilities, J & D ASSOCIATES now has the manufacturing capacity to produce in excess of 4,000 systems per year. J & D ASSOCIATES currently employs 60 full-time employees.
